Inroads marks its 50th issue and 30th year of publication with a retrospective. We revisit some of the major developments and controversies that Inroads writers have engaged since our last retrospective in 2007. In addition, writers who reviewed books in that period have another look at their reviews and reflect on whether they would change their assessment. At the same time, Inroads 50 does not neglect the present. We report on a leadership change in Sweden and elections in Germany, Norway and Japan as well as Canada; the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow; the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan; and new language legislation in Quebec.
